“99% of the world operates on flawed assumptions — and the companies that hack those assumptions are the ones that win.” That is the belief at the heart of dataX. Before founding dataX, we sensed the limits of labor-intensive business and became convinced that the data space — rapidly evolving and not yet dominated by mature competitors — was where the real opportunity lay. From there, we founded dataX, and it was through taking on a client’s data analysis project that we developed a tool to solve the very inefficiencies we had experienced firsthand. That became the origin of b→dash, our first product. As Japan’s working population shrinks and the pressure to improve productivity intensifies, the urgency around data utilization will only grow. We are committed to “enabling” data underused within companies, and to realizing a “smart data society” where anyone can put data to work. Our relationship with DNX began at Series A. At a time when SaaS was far from a popular sector, DNX engaged with us as a deeply knowledgeable partner in the space. From pricing to fundraising to organizational design, they shared their SaaS expertise without reservation. “When someone who truly knows the domain tells you something, it lands differently” — and we still believe there should be far more VCs like DNX in Japan.
